    Thoughts on New Ranger Z519

Hey guys, looking at picking up a 2022 z519 with merc 225 pro xs. I am currently running a z118 with 150 and the boat is great. Just looking for a little more space and power, a 520 jumps up in price a lot, plus I like having a smaller rig. Up here in Ontario we have thousands of “cottage” lakes loaded with bass but they all have crappy ramps. The z118 can be tossed around with my f150. I figure the 519 will give me little more space and more speed and still be nimble.

How is the quality builds on the new rangers compared to my 2013 model? My current ranger is a tank, zero issues thus far.

    thanks for the info.

My 2022 Z519 is the cleanest, most solid of the 6 Rangers I’ve owned since 2008. My 2018 was [and is] a great boat. This one looks better, plus it has some definitely improved features. A couple of us have taken delivery on new Z519s in the past 4-6 weeks. Those threads are easily searchable.

Is there a noticeable difference between my z118 and z519? Will the 519 feel much larger ?

Yes, it will. I owned a Z118 at one time, and then when moving to a Z119 it definitely felt much larger. The current/2022 Z519 has crept up a few inches from the earlier 119/519 platform, and now the Z519 is also deeper, which further contributes to a bigger-boat feel. The increased depth also has increased the capacity of each storage locker, and like women and their purses, guys can’t have too much room for plastics, etc.

I went from a 2003 185vs that had a 175 optimax to a 2018 Z519 with a 225 optimax. Yes you will notice a big difference. I loved my 185 but the 519 is a totally different boat. It can handle bigger water, has more room for storage and gear, it fished excellent with two guys and is fast enough for me. I don't think you will be disappointed with a 519 at all as it is a great boat.

I have a 519L and could not be happier, very good in big water up north, a wide platform and plenty of speed.

Very encouraging to hear about the new Rangers. Hard to believe my '19 is already 3 model years old but I've been beyond impressed with this boat. I will seriously consider a Z519 for my next one!
