I've seen some people ice fishing in central MN. In SE Wisconsin we are just starting to get a freeze

Quite a warm spell right now. Lots of lakes in the Metro had locked up but are wide open again. Duluth area lakes aren't really ready. Further north there is fishable ice. Four wheelers being allowed out of resorts on Red starting this weekend.

45 degrees and high winds basically all over the state yesterday didn't do anyone any favors.

Still fishin'. Miss River is wide open. Water temp yesterday, 37-38. However, the fish were MIA.
There was a time that I didn't fish but I cannot remember it.

The recent high and gusty wind has really broken up a bunch of the ice near us in the NW suburbs. Boat went into storage just before Thanksgiving.....

5inches on my lake. It was a great Fall. Deer hunting weekend was one of the best Fall fishing weekends for smallies. 5 months until open water. Too long.

As much as I enjoy deer camp with my boys and grandson, it was killing me not to be out in the boat. It was a beautiful weekend as it usually is.

Totally agree that 5 months is too long! Unacceptable.

5 months is indeed too long, but Cal, we know you will be out on the moving water when it's open in March! Only 3 months to go now.....

Did you bag that deer yet Jared, or are you going to go hungry this winter?

Going hungry this winter. I guess it was nature's way of putting me on a diet!

Are you familiar with the outdoor weekly paper, Outdoor News? It gives a pretty decent rundown of conditions and fishing all across the state. I can usually find a copy in my local Cub Foods magazine rack but it's probably also available in tackle and bait shops. You can PM me if you have interest in a particular location.
