Looking at getting the Sear Clear power harness for my Ranger. I heard that Ranger already ran 8 or 10 gauge wire for electronics. Anybody have any advice? Thanks Greg

You don’t need it …. Ranger comes with over side wire direct to console and bow
You may want to do some additional research, as many have ran dedicated power with heavy wire to the electronics on their boats. I've ran 8 gauge to front and 10 to helm on my 2019 520L with separated breaker. Big difference.
What ranger? The L’s have huge wire to the bow and console but from the power lug to the distribution board is small and could be upgraded

I have a 2018 520 and I put it in my boat. I did it for the draw on the battery and I can say that it definitely helped. At the end of the day from running pumps, power poles, and 3 12 inch units, I can honestly say that it made a difference. My volts at the end of the day are much higher according to my units and I can tell that my start battery isn't as drained as it was. I'm also running a 31 series Northstar cranking battery that has a lot of juice.
Happy with mine. Would do it again.

Put one in my 521C. Happy with mine.
I don’t think you need sea clear either if your a do it yourself err. I ran 8 ga from battery to under the dash. That’s where it goes into terminal block. One side for negative the other side for positive. From this it goes with 10 ga. Wire to my helixes and my either net box. I’ve got the 1 amp fuses near my units and a larger fuse near the battery.
so far no interference with the alternator or from other electronic gadgetry.

My boat is a 2016 520 C. Thanks for the feedback. Greg
I just installed new units in my boat. The factory wiring has been plenty for me. I think it just depends what all you are doing. All I have is a fish finder at the console and at the bow. I don't have 360, livescope, powerpoles, hydrowave, or whatever else they bring out next week lol. Having all of that is ALOT on factory wiring. I think these harnesses are geared for all of that ran to it's own battery. You can build your own setup for much less than Sea Clear but the ease of just ordering a harness I understand.
I ran 6 ga from battery to under the dash. And 6 ga from the battery to the bow. I have AT and a Lowrance 16 up front and a Lowrance 12 and 3d at the dash. 10 won't cut it. Len

I ran dedicated 8 gauge on my 2020 521L, HUGE difference... I run Solix units and they are power hungry. The std wiring was not even close for results.
What did you all use for fuses? I would think a 12ga wired fuse would be choke down... Also is it better to have the fuse close to the battery or close to the graph?
I had it on my old 521L. It didn't make a difference until I put it on it's dedicated lithium battery and then it was stark! I won't be putting it on my 520R.
I run 100AH lithium with all stock Ranger wiring. No issues at all. Clear images. I’m sure the sea clear can’t hurt, but not necessary for my rig.

I put on in and it is great and was super easy.

The conduit on my 17 won't allow anything else to pass through it! I've got my steering cables, and 2 transducer cables, power cables and probably something else I'm forgetting! I wish I could run one, but there is no way I can get those big SeaClear cables through there. The conduit seems to be only 2 or 3 inches wide!
