GeigerTec Transom saver for Merc V8

Anyone try this one yet? It comes with steering stops. Its sold out right now but it might be worth the wait…no welds to rust or crack:

    Look good. How much $?

I have the RMP model for V8 Mercurys and like it a lot. Think it was $159.99 if I recall correctly.

I thought about getting a new transom saver when I bought my 4 stroke until I realized the Motor Mate for my 2 stroke works just fine.

Great product at a very good price. If I needed a replacement it would be my first choice.

Don't get sucked into the high $ toters for these V8's. Most of us have been using Motormate's on the Opti's for years with no issues. They now have them for the V8's for less than half of what these others are selling for.

It doesn't really seem like that good of a price to me... I considered Motormate to be too much, but I ended up buying one because I can get behind the concept and it had a couple features I like (isolating the steering axis to allow one to not use steering clips). I cannot imagine this being worth $100 more than Motormate.

When I look at the motormate 4 stroke model, it shows the steering clips as well. Not sure what you are saying Thamelau? I hate having to use the clips all the time, but am starting to get use to it.

The RMP saver is on sale right now for 127. I still use the old style transom saver that attaches to the trailer roller and steering clips for my 4 stroke v8 Mercury.

I just looked and seen that too. With my Yamaha I don't, but I'm not sure how the Mercs and Motormate interface, so you may still need to isolate the steering on different motors than the HPDI.
