    Bunk boards

What kind of wood will do for bunk boards? Pressure treated is not good for aluminum.

I have PT on mine, and wrapped them with the vinyl wrap (Caliber). The boards won't rot, and the boat loads and unloads much easier.

A high grade of Cypress so it has very few knots.

I used regular clear pine. Made sure it was straight and DRY then painted it with a waterproof paint (several coats). Topped with 1/2" Starboard for slippy launch and retrieve. I quit using carpet wrap a number of years ago. The carpet just holds water and potentially invasive species larvae/spores and acts like a grow house for fungus which will rot almost any wood product. My bunks now air dry quickly and look to be in good shape 3+ years and counting.
