I encourage differences of opinion. Just pointing out that the OP asked a simple question and then you had to start with the attitude “Maybe you should stick to fun fishing” and “upper tier tournaments.” I merely pointed out that some would surely be upset to draw a partner with an older boat and smaller engine (btw my last boat was 22 years old before I sold it) and your hijacking, resto-mods comments allude to someone having been triggered. I assure you, it wasn’t me.
Thank you for serving.

If the conditions were bad I would really appreciate fishing from a pontoon. If fishing offshore it may be an advantage.

Little update my Ranger was due to be off the assembly line yesterday but did not make it , was ordered on August 10 . Not upset just though I'd give you an idea how long it takes to get a new boat now .

I once had a pontoon----and-------a girlfriend .
A lot to be said about a pontoon.
There’s no use being stupid if you’re not willing to show it off.
Nice!!!
I checked with Ranger today and boat is still on a parts hold , lady I talked to has no idea what parts . I'm still not upset I just wanted to let ya'll know what ordering a boat nowadays is like , I believe if you want a new boat for this summer it may be too late to order . This is the price for a fairly well optioned 223F , $67,000.00 includes taxes out the door , no trailer , 200 hp Mercury , Ghost with 3 Lithium battery , charger , two Lowrance F/S in 7 inch . one built in dash one on Ram up front . The boat does come with a nice cover even though this will live on lift under roof . I just was thinking I would show ya'll a truthful price .
Other than chasing fish really really shallow I think a pontoon would not be a bad way to go.
Once the fish move out you could have a live scope setup on each side which may be an advantage with 2 anglers that know how to use it.
I don't see a problem, usually if the coangler cries enough, they will find another boat for him to go in

I've bass fished on a pontoon several times and it's tough if the wind's blowing. I hope you have a strong trolling motor. Yes I'd fish with you.
