Anyone have one of these? Any long term issues other than the oil pump belt location?

I have the Yukon w/o the extra trailering and it gets 27-29 on the highway closer to 22 in town. Pulling the boat it will knock down 17-20. The new motor and tranny work very well together. The BabyMax does drink the DEF when towing though so keep an eye on that.
How heavy are the boats you guys are pulling ? Looking at one or a Ram eco d for my next truck.
Are the SUV’s above 2 or 4 wheel drive?
I have a the GMC. It pulls my z520l better than my Tundra on the turnpike.

2020 Silverado diesel 4x4 crew cab. 31-33 mpg at highway speeds not towing. 25 city and 17-20 towing a Ranger Z519.
Best 25 mile average was in Colorado and it made 62 mpg from Durango to Colorado Springs. Could not believe it while it was occurring.
I’m sold on it and 18,000 miles with no issues.
2020 Silverado Z71 Crew with the D-max here. I have a little over 13,000 miles on it, and really like it. Tons of torque, and good fuel mileage. No issues so far. My overall mileage is not as good as some above, but the majority of time I drive it is with the boat behind. Have a company truck I drive otherwise. Lifetime MPG stands at 19.9 currently. I did drive it to Houston a few months ago, and set a new 50 mile rolling average for MPG.

I have the 4WD and the boat is a Ranger Z119C dual axle. Probably goes about 4500 lbs all decked out. They did raise the trailer limits way up for '22. Smoothest diesel I have ever been in.
One of our customers from Ohio has one (AT4), he told me it's the best truck he's owned out of 20+. A dealer in his town called him recently and offered him more than he gave for it in late '20 but told him he couldn't order the same truck with the baby DMax for several months. He said it might be '23 before the diesel At4 becomes available again.

love mine. if you wait for the 22's to be available they will have 4k more towing capacity
I have a 2020 with 63,000 on the odometer and haven’t had any issues. I get very similar gas mileage as stated above and I also tow quite a bit. Its a great motor and tranny for all around use.
"Get a hemi"...ha! If not the diesel then the 6.2. I've seen 26mpg with it before the 2" level kit and AT tires which brought it down to 22, but tows my 21' Triton great.
never had a gmc or chevy but considering a baby duramax as well or a new tundra. Think the true 2022 are coming out in spring with a nice touch screen, i may hold out unless i go for a tundra.
You can always tell when a guy has never towed with diesel; it's just impossible to explain to them.
So glad to read this thread! I put the diesel in when ordering my wife's Tahoe, it is suppose to be delivered this week. She was ooposed to it, but I did it anyway so have been nervous since.

Get almost the same mpg with the 6.6

If you count 10 MPG as close, then yes you're right.
My last 5.3 Silverado averaged right at 17 MPG. I see not much has changed.

Buying a truck for the MPG is a losing proposition. I like the feel of a diesel, but I don't want to spend a bunch of time sitting in the service waiting room so I pay for the gas.
Drove it today…like it, we’ll see. I drove it for abt an hour on the highway. Was showing 30-31mpg at 72
If you can, drive one that's similar but with the 6.2 gas motor. I have this and really like it. I regularly get 21-23 MPG on the highway (25 a few times) and maintenance costs will probably be less. The 3.0 Duramax requires the trans to be removed in order to change an oil pump belt on the engine at around 100K miles. Add that to the cost of oil changes, filters and DEF and the cost-to-own may be less for a gasser.
