    2012 z521 yamaha 250 sho, extra prop?

Just bought a new to me boat and it had this extra prop. Mercury 4 blade 21 pitch 48-825904-21. Does this prop make any sense for this boat? Thanks

Seems very low pitch but maybe as a water sports prop to pull people on a tube with a boat load of people. A 521 is a pretty heavy boat so it might work well so you can get up on plane quickly. My Skeeter FX21 250 SHO has a 25P Yamaha T1 and it gets out of the hole very well, even with three people and a lot of gear. I've not tried pulling a tube and maybe I would need to drop down some in pitch but all the way down to 21P, I don't know about that

I agree with ChooChoo, the Merc prop might be ok for pulling a tube, otherwise kinda useless……..

I have two identical 25p T1’s that have been professionally worked and have awesome hole shot, acceleration, and run 70-71 mph on my 2014 Z521C/SHO setup.

Thanks guys. I'll sell it unless my co angler would prefer to fish out of a tube :) thanks

You're very welcome and thanks for this post! The mental picture gave me a good laugh. I've had some co-anglers that I wish I had in a tube, and then I'd probably moved to the next spot in a zigzag at WOT:-)

Just got my 25 t1 back from croxton. Hope my setup runs like yours! Any tips and tricks that made a big difference with your boat would be appreciated!

I'm sure it is a summer time / fun time prop. I run a 2018 Z521L and it is a very heavy boat, and I run a Tempest Plus 21 pitch 3 blade to get decent hole shot. I have a Rev 4 23 for watersports running. These 21' Rangers cannot handle a high pitch prop for hole shot and slow speed handling. Don't sell it until you figure out your boat performance!

I sent you a PM back in December.

Your 2500’+ density altitude is going to really effect your performance. Hopefully you discussed this with Croxton.
