    That is not a weed guard.

    Clip is released from shank of hook.

    Plastic is threaded on the hook.

    Clip is pushed thru the bottom of plastic and clamped on the hook shank.

    Clip holds plastic on hook and keeps it from sliding down the hook.

    looks like a good spot to hand a blade as well ..

    I've seen that style bait keeper on a few of Jewel Bait Co's jigs, this one for example: https://jewelbait.com/shop/details/j...em-head-2-pack They call it the "J-lock" bait keeper.

    But they don't seem to make the one pictured. Good luck on your search!
