Looking for. Waypoint and Mapping at bow

Currently have Gen 3 with Navionics Platinum + at console. I want to get a cost effective Lowrance unit at bow that uses their waypoint and symbols as well as use Platinum + mapping.

I want to share waypoints with console Gen 3 but will have it in standby while at bow.

do I need a Gen 3, TI or FS at bow to input and share waypoints?

    thanks

Assuming your Gen 3 is on latest software 18.2) it will network well with HDS Carbon/ Live and Elite FS.

If you keep the Gen 3 on Version 7 software, it can Ethernet with earlier units and sync waypoints as well as share mapping cards with Gen 2 and above. If you update it you need a more modern unit to connect by Ethernet. NMEA 2000 is fine for any Gen or software but only has limited waypoint sharing. You lose waypoint sync and map sharing. The most cost effective unit that will work with an updated Gen 3 is an Elite FS.
All HDS units have built in GPS receivers.
