    Waco area

Been down here 3 years and almost never get out to fish. Have fished near the stadium and the TX Ranger museum with no luck, a bit on the Brazos near Brazos East Park with a few fish, and near a few of the ramps on Lake Waco with so-so success. Should I even be targeting bass, or stick with catfish? For eating I like white bass, crappie, cats, and smaller drum. No boat yet, anyone have preferences on boat types/sizes for this area?
Boatless again but looking forward to Spring

Don’t know about bank fishing in your area. However, you are close to several great lakes. Lake Whitney north of you has good striper and largemouth fishing. Belton Lake south of you has produced some good largemouth and smallmouth for me. Stillhouse Hollow also has a good reputation, but I have not fished it. A 19 or 20 foot bass boat would be my ideal choice. I fish them in an 18 footer and don’t feel handicapped.
