    STD or opposite rotation gearcase?

I bought a spare 2003 optimax 200HP S/N OT775873. It does not have a prop and is bolted to an outboard pallet. Are there markings on the gearcase that indicate its rotation?

I found "S-2-A-1" on the gearcase but that's all I could find.

On this gearcase the oil drain plug is NOT located /hidden behind prop.

    Thanks

That’s because it’s an earlier (Servicemaster) Gearcase.

I can double check Monday, but if you pull and push on the prop shaft, the RH (standard) Gearcase has about 1/4-3/8” movement.

    LH usually does not.
