Remote for Ultrex w/ i-pilot link.

Hello all, so I am picking up an Ultrex w/ link, but it doesn't doesn't come with a remote. Is the Link remote worth the added 100 bucks over the standard I pilot remote?

Only the touch screen link remote will work with the link. The regular remote will not. I do not know if the mini remote will work.

The mini works fine for me but only has a few functions.

The Bluetooth micro remote does many functions, but you must have the link remote to do any of the follow the contour or do any of the setup functions. No choice in my thinking. Bob

I am able to follow the contour without the factory remote by using the Solix.

This is true, but I don't think you can do the setup functions for most or all of the different setup options for follow the contour. Do you feel you don't need the remote? Bob

I have a question. This is the second post in the last couple days that says they bought ipilot link with no remote. How do you buy it that way? From a dealer or from somewhere else?

Get both micro and touchscreen. You NEED the touchscreen remote to set up the Ultrex and access many of the functions. You'll WANT the micro remote 95% of the time due to the weight of the standard remote

I agree 100% and the micro stays hooked to my PFD for when I am busy catching a fish or a couple dozen other things. Among them is putting the boat in spotlock if I fall out. Maybe even drive the boat back to rescue me! Bob
