Just bought a 2021 Z521L which has a 24 Fury 3 blade. Was running same prop on a much lighter 20 foot boat. Seems like that is a lot of prop for boat this big. Anyone running a 23 Pitch 3 blade fury?
any set up tips would be appreciated.

You ask if anyone is running a 23 pitch 3-blade Fury, James. That is the stock prop on the engine/boat you have, and the majority of owners of that rig have found it to be an excellent choice.

i had to drop to a tempest plus 21 on my Z521L with 250 pro xs. Lousy hole shot with anything more pitched. Came with a 24 fury, would only turn 5400 rpm at 56 mph with that prop. After a lot of experimentation, I went with 21 and had Croxton work it. Now running 65 mph at 6100 rpm, boat jumps out of the water, and can stay on plane at 25 mph with good control. Fury will not carry the load of this heavy boat at all with 4 agm batteries, power poles and full livewells. I spent a lot of money trying props before settling with the 21 tempest. Now a happy boat and owner.

I run a 23 Fury that Mark did for me (one of the first he did for a V8) Good out of the hole and 71 with just me and gear and full tanks 68 with 2 guys and full tank @6050-6150. I don't have poles which make a big difference.

I have a 2019 521L and I’m running a 24 bravo FS. I had a 23 Fury and the boat felt like a dog. With this prop I’m running 70-71 with me tournament loaded. The boat is totally different. The prop gives both bow and stern lift.
yes, I ran a Bravo XS 25, slow and crappy hole shot. Mercury racing suggested it and it did not work at all, they then recommended a Bravo LT24, but could not find one anywhere, tried a Revolution 4 23, had mark add more pvs holes, lagged on throttle up and slow out of the hole. my boat with all those 31 series agm's, poles and loaded livewell weighs in around 3800 lbs. very heavy and Ranger is notorious for lack of lift. Very happy now with the properly worked 21 Tempest. Fury, all versions tried, were awful, no lift, no speed and crappy hole shot. Ran Fury 3 23 and 24, Fury 4 23 and 24. Had mark work the 24 Fury 4, never could get it over 5500 rpm and 61 mph, with an 11 second hole shot.
Bravos all ran ok once I got going, but slow, never could break 60 mph with any of them.
furys dont have enough blade to get the bow up. What did mark do to the 21 tempest? 23 tempest is night and day more bow lift on a 521C over a fury

I run a 25 pitch 4 blade fury on my z521c hole shot is great and top end 68 in summer 71 in cooler temps with a light load boat lifts out of the water higher in stern and corners great prop is great all around also have a bravo 1 xs 4 blade B&B
4 stroke takes a a lot less pitch than 2

Touched 70 for the first time last weekend in my 2019 521L.... likely because the air was cool and dry. Stock 23 Fury. 5980ish RPM.
thinned blades and added trailing edge cup for bow lift. Tried a 23, no hole shot, boat just too heavy to run a 23. was fine on top once up, still bow lift was not good with stock 23 tempest. My motor is a 2018 Pro xs 250, detuned by mercury to drag it on one more year as 4 strokes were not ready and epa was on them to lower emissions. 2017 250 pro xs pulled 265 hp, mine is 245, according to mercury, so it is pretty wimpy on low end especially. Hole shot was a royal pain to get and hard to get over 5500 rpms until I dropped all the way to a 21 Tempest. Could only get 5600 with a 23 tempest, but 21 gave me 6100, go figure that one. At any rate, spent a small fortune on props and rework of props, but finally got it right.
My 521c came with a 24 3 blade Fury and I couldn't be happier with it. Buddy bought a 2019 521 w/V8 and it came with a 23 tempest. He ran my fury and said his boat ran so much better with the fury. So I guess you will be able to find whatever opinion you want on here. I had run a tempest for years on my Z21, and noticed how much more lift the fury had over the tempest. The fella that posted numbers of 5,400 rpm at 56mph...I don't get it? Trim up? I run 67-70 full tourney load @ 5,750rpm +/-.

Keep in mind fellas that the Z521c and the Z521L will take different setups because the L is heavier and that weight is a bit more forward; which means the L is generally a couple of MPH slower. Also every boat is a bit different and equipped differently( especially with regards to shallow water anchors)

I get 64-66 with my SHO and tournament load. Coangler usually slows me 1-1.5mph. 25T2, usually maxing out around 5600-5700 rpm.
