Deep cranking with a Dobyns Swimbait rod?

Hi guys, I'm looking for a deep cranking rod to throw mostly things like a DD22 and 6XD.

I don't want to spend a ton, so definitely on a budget.

I was looking at the Dobyns Fred "Boom Boom" Roumbanis 803SB. It's rated as Moderate Fast for lures 3/8-2oz but made as a swimbait rod...

I'm wondering if it will be moderate enough for the treble hook baits like 6XD.

The rod seems to be designed first and foremost for swimbaits, so that is my concern.

Anyone have this rod by any chance?

Or could I throw the Fury FR 795SB? This is listed as just 'fast' action, not even anything moderate. I'm worried about this for treble hook cranks.

    Thank you!

In my opinion I would save for the 805cb. It was made for that specifically. Absolutely love cranking with it. Cast a mile, sensitive, balances great and keeps em pegged. Fury 795sb will be a broom stick for cranks. I use it for my A rigs/big spoons and think it might be a touch heavy at times.

Agree with the above but just wanted to add that the 794sb makes for a really good 10xd rod as well as Arigs and small glide baits.

    Thanks guys for some feedback!
It seems there is a difference in a 10xd rod and a 6xd rod. For now, I'm sticking with the 6xd and not quite getting into that 'magnum' size.

Or do I start wandering and get something like the Okuma Guide Select Cranking rod?

    Thanks!

The 805cb will throw a 10xd too. To some it might be a touch under powered but I would try it before you go buy a rod for both.

Yeah I tried a 10xd on my 805 and it was too much - you can do it but its a little crazy - I already had the 795 though and that's perfect for it.

Yeah, I might throw the river2sea tactical crank or a duo G87 20a but not going to venture to the 10xd.
Seems the 805 would be perfect haha

X2. 805 will easily handle 6XD's and DD22's. It will cast those baits a mile too.
