2005 Evinrude 225 HO - Possibly a bad injector

I may have a bad injector...I have it at the shop now. The bad injector is not confirmed at this time.

If the injector is bad, what options would I have to repair? I'm thinking new or aftermarket injectors would not be available.

I realize there could be other problems causing the issues I have with this motor...I'm just trying to get a fix on the worst case scenario.
I appreciate your input.

There are no aftermarket injectors for this engine. So it’s new or used, repair / clean if possible.

May be SOL if it is a DI injector, Etec injectors are showing back order according the www.crowleymarine.com. I can't get on Boss Web maybe Bighare can check if you give your model number.

Does your shop have the capability to program coefficients for a replacement injector?

It hasn't been determined if the injector(s) are bad. I was just getting an idea/education if this is the problem. Now I know more than I did yesterdasy about injector issues.
Hopefully I will know in a few days what the real issue is.

You are correct. I was told it was a 2004 when I bought it...then some where along the line I was told it was a 2005. I just called the repair shop and asked them to text me a picture of the serial# and Model info. This way we will know for sure.

It may be an F...I was thinking the same thing. Also, I thought there was 9 digits not 10.

The girl at the shop where my boat is sent this to me. I will have to wait till next week to confirm the model.
Assuming it should be an F...can you confirm what year motor and if DI or etec?

It's a 2004 model. No E-TEC 225 in 2004. Model number should be E225FHLSRM. 2004 DI engine. Made 19th. August 2003.

OK...now I know what I have. Hopefully, I'll hear back from the repair shop next week with some kind of diagnosis...I just hope it's some kind of issue that can get me back on the water without breaking the bank. Thanks everyone...Happy Holidays!

Make sure you get an engine report and post it here for inspection by some very experienced eyes.

If the injector is bad send it out have it cleaned and fixed. bolt it in and go. worked for me.

UPDATE: None of the injectors were bad...I'm embarrassed to tell you what the main problem was. WORN OUT SPARK PLUGS

I bought the boat with 240hours on it and put in new plugs when I bought it. In 2 years I only put 50 hours on the boat (292 total hours). I never thought the plugs would have worn as much as they have with the hours I put on this engine. Most of the time I put on the boat is idling around (under 1500 RPMs).There were a couple other issues:

Had to replace Roller and Sleeve
Had to replace the PWHD-Adptr Gasket - water was leaking

The mechanic also said the piston compression for each cylinder was within 10% of each other and they were all around 120 - Is this good?

I took the boat out and it ran the best since I've owned it.

I attached the Engine History Report...for you guys that know how to read them.

Idling will work these plugs something fierce.

Figure on about 100 hours of use on the plugs before they should be cleaned and re-gaped. If you pull all of them place them in order so you don't have to index them again.

120 is great compression also use the carbon guard to keep it there
