    Lifting a 1985 Johnson GT 150

I wanted opinions on the best method of lifting my 1985 Johnson GT 150 off of the boat. I have a 1 ton cherry picker (engine hoist) and a flywheel puller. I saw the sticky of the homemade lifting ring. Does anybody have any experience with this method? Trying to avoid spending over $50 to do this. Any suggestions would be helpful.

    Thanks

You can trust Championman and the other posters in that thread. The engine is less than 25% of the lift capacity of you cherry picker.

Great. Thanks. That post was just an older post and I wanted to be sure it was still the go to method. It was certainly not questioning anyone posted.

The lift ring works great also on pulling the rear bearing carrier on the lower unit. Just need two sticks of all thread, 4 nuts to make up jam nuts and the washers from the lift ring.
