    Crankin Battery

Can anyone recommend a new cranking battery? I currently have the X2 from Batteries Plus but have started to have an issue with it and it left me stranded yesterday. I used to have 3 of these stores within a 10 minute ride from my house but all 3 have closed since COVID hit. I am running 2 12" Carbons (1 console / 1 bow) with Active Target.

Thanks in advance for any help.

I agree. With the 1150 cca you should have no issues.

Thanks for the info. It's looking like I am going to give the Odyssey a shot. My only question is, do the letters after the 2150 just affect the terminal connections? I see PC2150 (S/T/ST-M) and even Walmart seems to have one with no letters after the number.

Even Amazon seems to have an option that they will ship but it has way different dimensions listed that everyone else, which I am guessing is just a mistake.

The Odyssey or the X2 are the top of the line batteries available. Get the X2 carbon pile load tested and/or replaced under warranty if it's covered.

You may have other electrical issues that need addressed if the X2 checks out ok.

Where would I get it carbon pile tested? I'm not sure what that is, is it just the basic load test that Auto Zone & NAPA offer? It sounds like Batteries Plus is going to warranty it for me. I hope that I don't have any other issues, the only thing that changed is that I added Active Target but I added that back in July or so.

John Batteries+ will test it. Any reputable auto parts store can do it too. It's the only way to determine battery health.

There's a 48 month no questions asked warranty on the X2 from Batteries Plus, I would take it to the nearest one you can find and get a replacement if it's been less than 48 months.

It looks like most people are pointing me to the Odyssey 31-PC2150S. I see there is also a specific marine version, 31M-PC2150ST-M (Trolling Thunder Dual Purpose). Is there any down side to going with the marine version of this battery? The specs seem to be the same.
