Congrats and that is a nice looking rig.
I am unfamiliar with the 181 but I am sure someone that is will be along shortly.
    Enjoy!

Open the rod lockers and look up inside so you can see the opening to insert to rod tips into. These boats were designed back when a 6ft rod was the standard and 7footers weren't even on the horizon.

Congratulations on the 181. I had a 1995 181DC and was able to put 7’ rods in it.

The 181 was quick out the hole and ran great.

The rod glove neoprene rod sleeve allow me to get almost 20 rods into one rod locker. 7’ 6” rods fit if you keep them toward the outside. There may be a lip on the floor of the rod locker near the front. Make sure the wires from your trolling motor are not hanging across the rod locker those will hang you up on the way in and the way out.

For the longer rods make sure the tip of the rod is pointed towards the bow tip of the boat, there is a hole up in there for the tips to extend through. I can get 7-6 rods in my lockers.

    Rods sleeves help a TON!!!!

Nice rig! I absolutely love my 181. I am able to put 7'6" rods in my rod locker. Always use rod socks. They make a huge difference!

7-6 rods should not be a problem, there is a small lip on the bottom of the locker but a rod should go over it. I put a rod organizer in my first 95 181. I made sure the tubes extended past the wires for the trolling motor on the port side and wires for control panel and bow light on the starboard side.
have a hole for recessed trolling motor tray helped to bring the tubes forward, I had 10 rods on each side.

I have a 95 181 dc and I took the the tubes out because they had come lose. Then I just gave putting a 8 ft rod in just because and it went right in. As others have mentioned using rod socks is the key. I threw the tubes in the trash and have a dozen rods in one locker now all with socks. No problems with this set up

I can stuff an 8 footer in my 93 190. Like others said, rod sleeve and make sure it's not getting hung up on trolling motor cables or that little lip of glass up there. Nice boat, as well!
