    Chickahominy River fall fishing

I've been fishing the Chick for about 3 months and am planning on fishing late into the fall. My question is when the water dips into the 50's how do
you change your tactics? Do you fish deeper and slower? Does your lure selection changes to slower moving baits?
    Thanks for any insight.

First let me state I suck on the Chick. But yes I generally, once the water temp get to 50 and below, move to slow moving baits and where there is close access to deeper water. Also unlike the summer when the bass love the current, when the water temp is below 50 they do not want to be in the current. Also downsize your baits. My baits of choice are Jerkbait, flatsided crankbait, heavy spinnerbait (so you can slow roll it deep), A-rig, lipless crank and a jig. Look in the sharp bends and for baitfish. This time of year if you find some they should be good ones. To me the fall and winter is the best fishing. Hope this helps.
