    Steering cables

    I’ve got a 99 - 181 F/S, cables are binding up.
I could be wrong, but looking under the console, it
looks like the cables will be difficult to remove from the helm.
Will everything under the console have to come out, so I can pull cables?

Id like to replace with a hydraulic system.
    Cables are Tele Flex.
    Thx

If you're just going to replace with hydraulic, cut them off with a saws all. There, easy breezy.
Then use the cut cables as your fish tape to pull your hydraulic lines.

Teleflex ( cable maker ) tells me my cables are custom
    length for my boat.
    14.5 ‘
Switching to hydraulic steering you add 2’ to the length of your cables.
    Who makes 16.5’ hydraulic hoses?

are you sure the 16ft for seastar will not work? Maybe having 18ft would work? but that is a lot of extra hose.

    Don’t know.
Seastar tech support says round up to the next even # (16’), then
    add 2’.
    16.5’ sounds more reasonable.
