    Lawter?

Anyone else fishing Lawter this weekend on Eufaula?
Dad and I are hitting it again for the umpteenth time.
We would sure do better if we fished that lake more than one weekend a year😄
What shape is the lake in, color wise?

Went there last Friday and the water from Brooken to Porum is in good shape with decent clarity. Maybe 2 feet. Lake is down almost 2’ and water temps ranged from 67-70. Great day to be on the water but no wind and high sky made fishing a little tough. Good luck.

My son and I will be fishing it. Going over to check things out Friday and Saturday. Weather looks to be shaping up ok. Looks like it’s going to get a slug of rain tomorrow night.

Dang. That looks like fun and on a Sunday.
Are there any other tournaments like that one throughout the year?
324 or so boats so far, with 100% payouts calculated on 374.
That’s over 650 folks if all are 2 man teams. Wow!
Hope you guys tear them up!
I may just head down there tomorrow for my first time on that lake.
I need a change to break my unlucky streak.
Are there any areas to watch for stumps or other obstacles?
I have Lowrance charts and they have been good so far for most things.

There is normally over 400 boats in the event. A buddy of mine and I have fished it every year the last few years (except COVID year). It is normally a good time.

The lake is a little low, so that might expose some of the timber that is standing in some areas of the main lake. There are large areas of very shallow water, but your graphs will show you that. The biggest issue is that wind can be absolutely treacherous on that lake. There are several wide open areas that really get rolling.
Usually you can find just about any water color you're comfortable fishing.
Every year we usually try some new areas but seem to end up in the Longtown or Porum & Brooken areas.
The lake has some really nice fish in it but I usually only fish it this one time a year.
Lawter puts on a great event. We started fishing it on their 2nd year and I believe have only missed it one year with the exception of last years cancelled event.

    KLinger,
    Thanks for the info.
The lake has a lot of different areas.
I used to duck hunt with friends in the Deep Fork arm many years ago.
I have never fished the lake.
I notice the big bass for this event in the past was 7–9 lbs over the years I checked.
    Much better than Grand.
I didn’t make it out today based on cold front, wind direction and temperature drop.
But maybe in the next several days I will make it out.
It is nice to be retired and decide what days you fish rather than have to fish the days you have. I have waited a long time for this time.

We missed a check and had 8.98. Thought we might have a shot but missed out. Fun day on the water and great weather for mid November.

Looks like we missed a fun weekend with nice weather. My dumbazz came down with something Wednesday and I've been sick ever since. Been checked for flu, strep and had a Covid quick test and all were negative. I pretty much never get sick and I end up missing out on this. Ugh.
Congrats to the guys that caught them!
