Look at Facebook- places like Mercury Pro XS Owners, Mercury Outboard Market, for starters.
I found a 2021 Mercury Pro XS on the Pro Xs Owners site couple of months ago in the crate.
If I run into something I'll PM you. Worked for Schlumberger Well Services, spent a lot of time in Lafayette.
    Awesome party time!!

We're currently told 54-56 weeks from order date.

That being said- checking around is obviously a good idea. Just make certain you are actually purchasing from an Authorized Mercury Dealer, who is rigging the engine, performing the Pre-Delivery Inspection, and registering the engine for warranty.

Keep looking. I bought my 2022 ProXS 250 from the same dealer I bought my 2017 2 stroke from: Lawrenceburg Marine in TN. I let two dealers know I was in the market and got on their lists. Deliveries are so sporadic from Mercury, they didn’t take deposits just list those wanting them. From time of request to getting mine was 3 months. High volume platinum level dealers have dozens on order and will get a few trickling in. You just have to be on a list and be patient.

Does the 56 week wait also apply to the 250R and 300R motors?

Not sure, but the 250R creates it's own problem with only being sold with a SM lower unit.

I'd be glad to order you one to find out....

Yes, my understanding is that it's essentially ALL V6/V8 products.
