I currently have an 06 250 pro xs and am kicking around the idea of swapping to a used SHO. I want the 4 stroke and will eventually get the SHO flashed for more HP.
Is there a wiring harness adapter that will allow me to keep merc gauges? What about controls? I assume no adapter for those?

Personally, I would want all new wiring harness, controls, steering cables, gauges, etc.
ditch the speedo pivot tube (if you have one) for the SHO speed sensor and electronic speedo.
Trying to patch work this together with 15 year old stuff just doesnt sound like a good idea and could lead to gremlins with the new motor.
recommend New battery cables too.
Gauges won't work, I upgraded to Yamaha's digital gauge. I kept the merc controls, the dealer just used a conversion kit... works well.
