    Battery lid cover replacement

    Okay guys,,,,my battery lid cover on my Ranger xt397 boat needs either fixing or replacement,,,,what do you guys do when these need fixing? It’s a fiberglass type and the cover crushed down on it as well as the lift stabilizer tore off of it,,,,do they make these in aluminum? Inquiring minds need to know…..

    Remove the carpet. Pop rivet a sheet of aluminum to the bottom and re attach carpet. Where the stabilizer tore through, back up bracket with strip of aluminum bar from hardware store using pop rivets.

    The backing of aluminum would work if the corner didn’t get crushed down already,,,,but it’s a problem now

    How about putting the aluminum sheet on the top of the fiberglass lid?

    I would just use contact cement to glue the aluminum down to the cover and then put the rug over this.

    I would file the edges , so they are not sharp so it doesn't cut into the rug.

    Seems to me, this would work
