    2012 SHO 250

My 2012 250 SHO seems to be burning some oil during start up. Is this normal from time to time with trim levels? Oil level is within range all year, I have had compression test, leak down test, serviced yearly and engine has been great! Just wondering if I should have anything checked on it. Engine hours should be around 300 or so by now, I always use Yamalube synthetic oil and OEM filters. Any suggestions, or is this normal with these outboards?

    Thanks,

If the motor is left trimmed down and in beyond the vertical position there is the possibility of oil draining into the combustion chamber. Which can lead to a smokey start up.

Try leaving the motor trimmed up a tad and see what happens.
