Propeller fatigue. Strong motors with lots of torque running raised motor heights.

It gets pricy that's for sure. Never broke an ear on a prop, until I got the v8. I've broke 2 in less than 2 years.

The 14in diameter wont carry the heavier loads in a bassboat. They also need to be run deeper than most props.

I like the Tempest on my 250 Merc 4-stroke too!
I recommend talking to Mark Croxton about his Razor 4XL. Sturdy, performs well and cost effective.
You have to be running it to high that is what breaks a blade. I would say defiantly if you have lost 2 props.

A few years back I broke an ear on (2) Temptest props in less than 3 months while running a Nitro Z9 with a 250 Pro XS with a ptp set at 3.5”
Over trimming on heavier, slower hulls can cause this too. Too much angle can push the pad of the boat down in the water and the angle of attack for the prop is angled too far down. You lose forward efficiency and it puts extreme stress on the blades. The new V8's are relentless in torque. Seeing a lot of guys actually running the engine height too low, still over trimming and slinging ears with just 70mph boats. This is almost as bad as power torquing your boat on a trailer that is too shallow in the water. Set the height right for your hull, pick up a decent four blade with a 15" diameter or at least 14.5" and realize there are limits to what your hull is capable of. And then in some cases, its just a bad casting.
