Question New PT190 owner with a few questions....

Just picked up a 2016 PT190 with a Merc 115 4-stroke. Looks like i need to remount the motor to about the 3rd hole on the mounting bracket, definitely needs to come up and also start looking for a new prop. Does anyone know the torque spec for re tightening the mounting bolts? Also a good sealant for that job?
Also fuel gauge doesn't seem to be working, it lights up but needle is not moving from empty, any ideas? Thanks for any help, looking forward to using this rig, pretty much been in glass boats, this is my first side console aluminum boat, pretty excited.....

    Also jackplate? yeah? nay?
    Prop recommendations?

If your running an aluminum prop keep it in the 2nd hole from the top. 55 ft lbs for the transom bolt torque.

+1 on the 55ft # of torque for the transom bolts, I would use 4200 sealant. When I upgraded the prop on my boat to an X7 I also raised the motor to the third hole. Before installing the new prop I ran the stock 3 blade 21 pitch just to see the effect. It wasn't good. Performance and drivability sucked. Went back to the shore and installed the X7. I carry the 3 blade as a limp back to the landing spare.

I have no idea on how the stock prop would perform with the motor raised to the 2nd hole.

What's the specs on that X7, Pitch, Diameter? 3 or 4 blade? Looks like you got the Pro XS, I'm running just the plain efi Merc 115,
    Thanks for the info......

The 115 performs best on the 3rd hole if you go with a stainless prop. If you do not have a stainless then stay on the 2nd hole.

I would recommend the X7 stainless prop

The X7 is a 4 blade prop, a 19" pitch is the best for your combo.

I don't think there is any variation in hub diameters. The X7 is made specifically for the mercury 75-115 HP outboards and 40-60 HP motors that have the command thrust gearcase. The only difference is the pitch.

    Ended up going this route,

    Solas 19p 4 blade
    2.07 gearcase
52.5 mph gps consistent. Bumped 53 a few times.
    6100 rpm wot
    Motor mounted on 1st hole.
3/4 full on gas, riding solo.
Very stable and still easy to handle.
Using the calculator it puts me at 2% slip.
Think I’m where i need to be. What do yall think?

2% slip. Unreal! You are a touch too hot on the prop, as your max RPM is supposed to be 6000, however. You may benefit from getting the prop re- pitched to a 20 or adding some extra cupping to it.

    Also, yay on the jackplate.

I wouldn't change anything, that is excellent, I haven't even been able to reach those speeds in my Tracker 175 with a 115 on it.

I thought the Rev limiter on this motor was 6200? Can any one confirm?
Motor was manufactured in 2015 but is a 2016 model

You may be thinking of the ProXS. I see a powerband of 5000-6000 RPM on their site for the standard 115. To be honest you may not want a slip of less than what you are seeing now if that was calculated correctly. So you may not want to change anything as someone else mentioned. It's up to you, but from what I see on Mercury's website you are just a bit over hot.
