Have '19', 95 Stratos 295 Dual Console. Running a rebuilt Mercury 200 EFI. Prop is a Trophy 4 blade 24 pitch. Yesterday, had boat empty and half full of gas. Ran 63.2 mph and 5900-6000 rpm.
Prop is dinged up as buddy ran over a rock pile! Taking it to get reworked.
Have not measured motor height yet. Where do I measure? Top of transom to bottom of cowling? Bottom of boat to trim plate?
What rpm's should this motor turn? 6000 seems a little high.

If the boat is not soaked then it should be a 70 MPH boat.
You should be able to turn a 25 Pitch Trophy plus to about 5800 or so.
Does that motor still have an oil pump or do you premix? If premix then you can spin it to around 6200rpm otherwise 5800 is the right RPM.

Start at about 3.25'' PTP and work from there.

prop must be tired need to tried a fury 25p 3 blade? tempest?

has an oil reservoir in the rear.
Will check motor height. Maybe try to find a 25 pitch prop in either 3 or 4 blade.

You should get a few vent plugs in the different sizes so you can adjust if needed when trying his prop. Make note of what plugs he has in it currently so you can put it back to how he has it.
