Help on SOLIX 15 CHIRP MEGA SI+ G2 please

Ok so have never looked at hummingbird looking to swap over from garmin
So i ran across this unit, i know its a g2, but i was told it will work with mega 360.?

    SOLIX 15 CHIRP MEGA SI+ G2

Can yall tell me what is the best ducer this unit is compatible with?

Will i be able to share waypoints with a newer g3 or g4?

    Is this unit worth having?
I am a tournament angler but, im not trying to add another 1000 dollars after i sell the 2 garmins on my console for a g4, i use mapping,si,di,sonar. But i need to share waypoints with bow, because i fish offshore.

    Thanks guys

The SOLIX G2 and G3 SI units have the same standard transducer == XM 14 HW MSI T.
The G3 has more power and a dual processor.
The same accessories are compatible with both== MEGA 360 and MEGA LIVE are a couple.
Since they are basically the same, all functions are shareable between then.

There is no G4 SOLIX, G3 is current.

There is ONE SI+ transducer for a SOLIX G2/G3.
It has two SI piezos that do 455 kHz/800 kHz/1200 kHz.
It has one DI piezo that does 455 kHz/800 kHz/1200 kHz.
It has one 2D piezo that is HW Low-Q CHIRP.

Piezos lost me but i understand the rest lol

So how does waypoint sharing work?
If hooked up via ethernet can i share only to another g2 solix or. Can a gen3 also?
    Or helix also?

And can HB share one ducer so say i have that solix on console to transum ducer
Can i share with bow solix? Or do i need one on ny TM
i Run force tm so id have to strap one.

Piezo is the "element" in a transducer that produces the SOUND and detects the return ECHOES.

All SOLIX units share waypoints physically by writing them to ALL other SOLIX unit's memory.
SOLIX units share waypoints with Helix units visually and vice-versa--does not write to the Helix's memory. Can copy Helix waypoints to SOLIX via Ethernet.

Sonar data is shared via Ethernet, the processed data is shared, not the physical connection of the transducer= you cannot select another unit's transducer.

This is a transom SI+ transducer on a Minnkota Ultrex that has a US2 transducer built-in. It has the Humminbird trolling motor adapter.

This is a SOLIX sharing Helix waypoints visually. The Helix waypoints will not be in the SOLIX's memory until copied and then they will be MY DATA.

    Ahh

Ok so if i run a solix on console and a helix on bow, will the helix show the waypoints on the actual map? Or will i have to go in and save them furst before they show on map?

On a solix to solix they will show on the map of both though correct?

    I am looking at a g2 solix that i listed mega si+ g2
just Making sure if i end up having to go with a solix 12 g3 on bow it shares waypoints, via ethernet.

I havent looked but does hummingbird use a different nmea2000 connection?
My boat has the standard lowrance factory n2k through the whole boat.

A map is just a background on the Chart View. It has nothing to do with waypoints, you get those displayed with or without a map background. Waypoints are GPS data, not map data.

Already stated SOLIX and Helix share waypoints VISUALLY==you can see them. Seeing is the second picture in post #6. If you have the Chart view displayed on both, both will show the same waypoints.

There is zero difference between G1, G2, and G3 SOLIX units concerning mapping and GPS.

A SOLIX has a NMEA2000 port, you can use the same parts that a Lowrance does. Most do since it was just recently that Humminbird has NMEA2000 backbone parts.
