    Using boat during freezing temps..

Going to be using the boat during freezing temps. Boat will be outside. What is tilting the motor all the way down to drain good enough to keep from any damage from freezing? What other precautions should be done after a day on the below 30's river or lake? 2017 Nitro Z20 w 250 pro xs

Engine info would be helpful for an informed response.

I use three different boats with three different Motors all winter long. All you have to do is tilt it down and it will drain out perfectly. Make sure your lower unit is good and does not have any leaks, and you'll be good to go

Drain completely or you'll be replacing parts.

I just opened the drains and let them empty, some people put RV antifreeze down in there, I do not

There should not be any water left in the hose if you open the drains, it should drain out fully. You can remove the screens inside the live wells and use compressed air if you need to

I can tell you that it's never a good idea to "assume" that no water is left in the drain system. I have several scars to prove it (from repairing broken/frozen plumbing, pumps, valves, etc).
