    LOWER UNIT

    Needing to know what lower unit on my Mercury 250 Pro XS
    Serial# 1B868018
    Wanting to rebuild unit, looking for parts. Thanks for any help

    A lower unit rebuild is not a DIY job.....there are many specialized tools involved.

    Gen-1 Torquemaster Gearcase.

    DEFINITELY agree. Requires numerous specialty tools specific to this HP gearcase series, appropriate service manual, a good working knowledge of shims and dial indicators, and at least a quart of patience.
