    Fresh vs Salt way rods/ reels

    What's the difference between the two. Guided material? Can you use fresh in salt water? What about spinning reels?

    The components will be the same on both unless you are go up the price point ladder considerably, I have rods that are nearing 40 years old with the same components on them as my freshwater only rods. I have used the same reels for fresh and saltwater for decades, if I was only fishing the salt, I would lean more toward that specific market, but I spend more time in the fresh overall.
