    Calibrate Temp on electronic units?

Got 2 Lowrance units (HDS3, HDS Live) and a Garmin EM 102 SV. 6 degrees difference in water temp between highest and lowest readings. I understand it’s the relative temp change so any unit will tell you that. Any way to adjust /calibrate the readings?

Not to speak for Lowrance or Garmin, but I doubt they can be calibrated. I suspect they're Type K thermocouples, which have an inherent +/- 2.5 degree (F) error range. My two Garmin's up front vary up to 1.5 degrees from each other and they're physically about 8 inches apart.

Ditto my two HDS7’s. They are rarely reading the same temp.

All the Lowrance units I’ve ever owned, and networked, have varied +/- 2 degrees. Close enough. 2 degrees makes no difference.

I can't remember but don't the units have an temp. offset you can set just like on a depth reading? If so take a calibrated thermometer and use it to find the correct reading and then set the others accordingly. You still might get some additional fluctuation depending on temperature range of environment.

Problem solved, both units have temperature calibration adjustments in the settings menu

But how do you know what is actually correct?

Been this way forever, Not even sure what you would use as a baseline to correct it.

I know that the Humminbird Solix does not have an offset for the xdcer temp sensor

It has an offset for a network temp sensor but doesn't work on the sensor that's built into the xdcer
