    Shimano 100D drive gear BNT3158 ??

Hey all, does anyone have a source for old Shimano parts? I need a drive gear (BNT3158) for a 100D. Checked some of my old sites and they're either offline or out of stock/discontinued. Ebay also was a miss.. Thanks for any help! Mick

I may haven one. I'll have to look. I know I have a couple of spools for a Chronarch 100 D.

The parts I have are from a Chronarch 100D5. Drive gear BNT 4024, Pinion gear BNT 4025. 3ea. along with 3 spools. Not sure if these would work for you.

I tried finding if they're compatible, but I think the Chronarch 50 was the one that's compatible with the Curado 100D. Thanks for checking though!

May want to check with Dan at ReelX. He knows everything there is to know about Shimano reels.

I saw (while searching) in another thread, you told a guy he was SOL so I decided not to bother ya. I have a lead on a used one and if that falls through probably just get a brass one for a 100b. Hate to see such a good series of reels die off, but I guess that's life..

Anyone know if a Crestfire 100D is compatible with the Curado 100D?? Through my searching I've not seen any of it's parts listed as compatible, but figured I'd ask anyway, just in case.. Thanks, Mick

Chronarch or Curado? Let’s do this. What is the issue you are trying to correct on which model reel? CU100D, CU100DSV or Cronarch100D? Dan

Main drive gear (bnt 3158) on a Curado CU100D. That's currently about all I can tell that's wrong with it. Locked up after I made a cast and instead of putting it down, I forced it to reel in. (redneck alert) lol. The bearing (bnt 2192) felt very rough, and has been replaced. Everything else "appears" to be in good shape.

Pinion gear is most likely the culprit unless you can see a tooth missing on main. Dan

If the anti reverse assist was still in reel that is what most likely caused the lock up. Dan

I can see 2 spots on the main gear teeth that are chewed up. Not sure about the anti reverse assist? If that's the pawl (bnt 2404) it was still in the reel and "appears" to be fine. The pinion gear is a mystery. Hard to tell by looking at it if anything is amiss. Has so many little cuts and angles in the gear. I've cleaned it with a soft brush, but will take a little stiffer wire brush to it before reassembly and hopefully be able to determine if it's faulty. That's the one part I can't seem to find. I can find a brass drive gear for a 100b, but no pinions seem to be available for any of the compatible reels.

Pull the anti reverse assist out of the reel and do not reinstall. Your main gear must be the black aluminum gear. If so get the 100B main gear if it’s new and you may get lucky. Do not buy a used gear. Pinions are all gone. I have both got 100D Chronarchs but not Curado. Dan

Sounds like a plan! Just to clarify, the anti reverse assist is the "pawl" (bnt 2404) correct? Thanks for the help!
