    Mercury Tempest Plus 25

Recently bought a prop from Ebay with the exact model and serial number of my old one (Mercury Tempest Plus 48-825866 25P) Went to replace and noticed that the two props are different. The newer one has an outside collar where the aft adapter is inserted and the old one does not. Also the older hub has a brass adapter where the aft adapter in inserted along with the plastic drive sleeve. Wanted to take out the old hub and put in new one but cannot because of the differences. Has anyone experienced this issue?

Newer props only have the plastic sleeve and a thrust washer on the back. where the nut goes a brass sleeve inserts from there

One is a pressed in rubber hub that you have to have a prop guy press in and one is a Flo Torg II square tube hub.

If they are both a tempest plus the props are the SAME there is no difference. just knock the hub out. As far as a pressed rubber hub that was on the old and I mean old tempest over 20 years old don't think you have that.

What kind of collar does that prop have on it? Does the new one have a solid steel racing hub in it instead of a PVS plastic hub? Are both prop hubs square bore?
