    Alarm Question

I have a 2000 Cobra 190 with a 1999 Mercury 200 carb motor. The the in boat oil tank has been removed and I am currently using just the reserve tank mounted on the motor. I fill it before each trip. The last 3 trips I get an alarm when i come off plane into the no wake zone around the marina. All three times I have I use the trolling motor to get it to the dock, back the truck down, restart the motor ( no alarm) and load the boat and go home. I am operating under the assumption that I am getting a low oil alarm because the tank is small and I am using enough oil to get low..

Now a couple things I run maybe 5-10 minutes at a time fishing for an hour or more between runs so I am not doing a lot of running and the alarm is at the end of the day even if it's a short run back to the ramp so I don't think it's an overheat alarm.

probably a stupid question but is there any reason to believe it is not a low oil alarm??

    thanks
