    Help please.

Today on Champlain cruising along 2/3 throttle 98 v-max 150 trp, carburated on a 98 Skeeter 202zx.. It just stopped running no power trim and can't crank the engine, its not the 30 amp fuse in the cowl on the right side. I'm guess its another fuse or relay somewhere?
Any help is much appreciated before it goes to a shop. thanks!

But, why did the fuse blow? There’s always a reason.

Great question, that's what I'm afraid of. lol It was an original fuse from 1998, but do you think the fact that I hit a rock and broke a piece of the skeg off and bent one blade of the 6 on the trp 'a little' had something to do with it? They have to be balanced together when this happens, so even though I didn't have much vibration maybe this caused it to blow? I was trying to milk one more day of fishing out of it before heading home, I didn't run it hard but it was probably telling me to stop before I do more damage. I love Champlain.

After you replace it, if there is a problem, it will blow again. If not, you should be good to go.

that's what I was thinking. going to buy a pkg of fuses today and try to get back out before they drop the water to far down here locally.
any guess' as to what caused it, ever have it happen?

found out there's a difference between fuses, marine and auto. marine are stainless, auto not.

You have a short on that circuit.... Look closely to all of the wiring in that circuit for any frays, worn insulation, anything that could touch another wire or motor... Check the wire plugs for good, clean contacts.

Why is there 2 fuses in series? Is the 20 amp one a slow blow? Just wondering or trying to learn why? CJ

I suspect that the drawing is incorrect. It does not agree with the other drawing that shows two fuses that are not in series.

Yam data is not the best IMO.

Found a different diagram for that model. Even this one is fuzzy on which fuse is the 20 amp and which is the 30 amp.

Start at one end of the red wire that is blowing its fuse and follow it to the other end.

By the way, which red wire is it? Is it the one on the left in the diagram above?
