Assumed for leverage/shear strength it would go on the lip somewhere but I was wrong. Seeing how it mounts and knowing how these boys catch air I'll be ordering another pair to put on the other side for reinforcement.

Don't waste your money. I had these on mine and when one blew open the cable broke and still slammed against back deck. The way I fixed my issue was with Bass Cat live well latches. I can get some pictures in a little while to show you what I did.20211015_064417.jpg20211015_064409.jpg
