There's not much to see in Beaumont. There are plenty of places with good fishing close by, though.

There is absolutely NOTHING to see in Beaumont! And if they stop at the mall, they better be packing! Its a craphole town!! I live in Lumberton about 15 mins south of Bmt....the only thing I go into Bmt for is Dr appt, and Rambo Outdoors thats on the very south end of Bmt and almost in Lumberton. They are the best tackle store in this whole area.

Depends on what he wants to do. I'm partial to Orange, TX myself cuz its my stomping grounds, yea, yea, yea its a crap hole 2 but....
Orange..... has airboat/boat tours, a world class museum, Shangri la gardens, Free State Winery, Old Orange Café for lunch
Beaumont..... has a couple small museums Fire/Babe Zahiris, 5 Under golf center, Rogers park marsh walk, lunch at 1701 BBQ (be there @ 11) The Grill fer supper.
Lumberton.... they might still be able to do a little canoe trip down village creek, Catfish cabin or Tia Juanita's fer chow. We have a few Tia's across the area and he needs to hit at least 1 of'em!
Port Neches.... Axe throwing with bar next door, eat at the Neches River Wheelhouse
Pleasure Island.... makes a good place for a picnic lunch.
Sabine Pass..... Old fort from back in the day. A little farther down to Sea Rim and you can walk on a not so beautiful beach but hey, its a beach!
All this is within 30 minutes of Beaumont.

Less than an hour away he can hit up the casinos in Lake Charles LA

For folks that aren't from here its a pretty neat place that's full of history.... For those of us that live here its just the same ol' stuff but to some of us its still pretty cool!

There used to be a meat market on the west side of Orange that served lunches. They used to have a great chicken fried steak.
The grocery store in Orangefield had a great chicken fried chicken lunch. K-dans was the name I believe

Thanks guys. He made a mistake when he said Beaumont instead of the correct name of the town, but he ended up staying on Sam Rayburn.

I assume you are talking about Roberts for the cfs. Their chow was pretty good especially if it was fried, unfortunately they had a fire a few months ago. They are supposed to rebuild but I haven't seen much activity there recently.
My boys went to Orangefield ISD just down the street from K-Dans... Needless too say I helped pay for their recent expansion and remodel project LOL. That's some good people with some good food right there!!!
