    Lake Harrison Dam Removal

The Region 1 Stream Team Coordinator has been working with the City of Harrison to design a plan to
remove the dam on Lake Harrison and restore Crooked Creek back to a free-flowing stream. There will
be a public forum to discus these plans on October 26th at 6 p.m. in the JPH Conference Center at the
NorthArk College South Campus in Harrison.

It's almost comical for it to be called a lake, it's not much wider than the creek anyway. They drained it a couple of years ago when they were looking for the bodies of the people swept away by flood waters who were later found around Yellville in Crooked Creek. When it was drained they added a lot of dirt making it narrow like it is now. Before that it was wider but still hard to be called a lake plus that area that is now filled in probably wasn't 4' deep at the most.
