Looking at a 1998 518svs with a 225 mercury efi. Curious what type of performance i should expect? No jackplate.
Anyone have any experience with the 518svs? Pros/cons?

It is overpowered by 25 HP. The 519svs is rated for 225 HP.
I would expect right at 70.
That year was rated for a 225hpOriginally Posted by Whiteboat;[URL="tel:12129202"

The 518 vx has never been rated for 225. In that era,the 519 vx was.
Correct I have a 98 518 dvs. Rated for a 200
Awesome boat I had one for 20 years before my 18 520L. I was around 63-65 with a 200 merc Sometime I wish I still had it.
I’m running 68 with a 200 opti
A 6” plate will really help that boat. I had a 6” Bob’s w/ a 200 Opti & could hit 70 by myself.

Put a 6 " jack on it and it will be a rocket. But your Gas $$$ is going to be horrible.
