    TILT TRIM SENSOR QUESTION

    03 opti 200hp.
    Sn ot760115
    Smartcraft

So my smartcraft tilt reads 25, full trailer up, when my motor is tilted down.

Should this black plastic male blade rotate as I tilt motor up and down? Mine does not rotate but I assume it should. 20211013_173202.jpg

Yes, but it's also not supposed to come out of the sensor (it is a component of the sensor).

Ok. I see how this all works. My stainless female slotted pin does rotate. New $100 merc sensor installed and the smartcraft still stuck displaying "trailer 25".

I check resistance between the brown and yellow tilt wires and resistance changes as motor tilts so new sensor is ingaged in rotating female pin and working.

Smartcraft gauge owners manual shows the word "trim" being used. My gauge is stuck on "trailer" 25. I dont see the word "trim " anywhere on any display my smartcraft displays.

I fixed the trim sensor but smartcraft isnt showing me "trim".

    I'm stumped and let down.

Mercury is telling me "trailer 25" is a fault code. Rrrrrrrrr. I think this happened when I removed gauge to do the lenssaver new lens.

No idea how to reset this secret fault...??

You need to check your trim sensor and wiring, then PROPERLY go through the trim calibration steps.

"Trailer 25" is NOT a "fault code". Sorry... don't know who you were talking with but they probably misunderstood. "Trailer 25" means the current sensor reading is at the maximum trailer position (as being reported by the PCM to Smartcraft).
