People ask about the Cajun aluminum transom, but there's not much info available on it other than blurbs in old sales brochures. I took this pic on a recent cool morning, when there was condensation on the transom of my '95 Ragin' Cajun XL. You can clearly see the aluminum square grid locations across a large portion of the transom. Note the external factory-installed thick aluminum reinforcement plate, and thick aluminum angle caps also.

This hybrid transom is an aluminum square grid filled with resin (can't verify if it was epoxy, polyester or vinyester) and laminated into the transom in the motor mount area. No wood was used in these areas of the transoms, and they are stiff and solid!

Use of the aluminum transom started in the mid '80s on certain Cajun models, and was used across the entire lineup by the '90s. At the time, they were offered with a lifetime warranty... too bad Cajun went out of business. The floors and stringers in these older boats will most likely rot away before the transoms ever give out!
