    Navionics not being shared

I have HDS 12 Gen 3 at the console and 7 Gen 3 at the bow. The hot map platinum card is in the 12. Works great at the 12” console unit. Not so in the 7. I select Navionics as the chart source But the 7 isn’t picking it up through the network. It shows a generic map without the nice contours. Am I missing something?

I have the same problem between 2 Carbon 9's. I am trying to decide if it is a cable, the card or the unit. I leaning toward the cable first. (The cheap solution first).

If not going through a module and maps are not sharing, it’s usually a bad cable.

Try saving all your settings and waypoints to an SD card and them do a hard reset on both units. I had the same issue and this was the fix.

Move the card to the 7 to make sure that it can see it. Then replace the ethernet cable, I had the same situation and replaced the cable and now works fine.

The card doesn’t work in the 7 but passes through the network to the 12. I will try a hard reset. I can’t recall if I tried that our not.

Hard reset did the trick. At least for now.

90% of the time it is a bad ethernet cable.

The cable is pretty new. But I knew it was not a cable issue because when I installed the card in the bow unit the Navionics map was functioning at the console. The hard reset did the trick though.

Glad it is fixed for you, but for the record don't assume that an ethernet cable is good because it works some times, or works with one function but not another...ethernet cables can work intermittently, and they can be good for one function but not another...some get damaged being pulled through the hull during installation and work intermittently.
