150hp - 175hp SHO Difference?
Aside from the gear ratios, are the ECUs the only differences between the 150 SHO & the 175 SHO? Will installing a Yamaha 175 SHO ECU on a 150 SHO boost it to a 175? I am aware of the difference in the electrical connectors from the early to later ECUs. Hydro Tec doesn't flash the 150 ECU's, & I haven't contacted Simon's yet. Thanks!

I'm told the only difference between the 150/175 is the gear ratio. Simon's quoted me $675 to bring it to 200hp.

I just had the ECU replaced on my 150 SHO under an outstanding Yamaha service bulletin that the previous owner had not taken care of. In the process, I also found out that the factory 0115 175 SHO ECU will interchange and work on my 150. Now that the new 150 ECU has been installed, I'm considering having it flashed by Simon as a second option. I just need to decide if I want to go with the factory 175 ECU or a Simon's flash. Thanks for the update on the Simon's info.
