    Question again to Yamaha folks

Looking at at boat with 2010 SHO 250 with new powerhead in March 2018. 100 hours run time since powerhead replacement. Any abnormal concerns for the earlier SHO 250's with new powerhead I should know about from the Yamaha folks? Thanks for your comments in advance.

The 2010 was the first year, so there were known powerhead issues. A new powerhead in 2018 would be the latest generation (I think) and should have no known issues. Hopefully yam911 will come in with his very valued opinion.

What many will call a powerhead, Yamaha calls a long block assembly.

Beginning in January 2018, a 6CB-11000-02-00 long block assembly was used in new motors. I would suspect that is what was installed on the motor that you are considering buying.

Beginning in January 2019, a 6CB-11000-03-00 long block assembly was used in new motors.

Beginning in January 2021, a 6CB-11000-05-00 long block assembly was used in new motors.

I am not privy to the differences between the -02, -03 and -05 long block assemblies. I would suspect that they are minor.
