Hit submerged rock, insurance question

The other day I hit a submerged rock or concrete and now have a gouge running half the length of the boat on the bottom of the hull. It's pretty bad and gouged past the gelcoat. I have progressive insurance and was wondering if this is something I can file a claim on. Has anyone filed a claim like this and if so what were the results?

It most definitely is a claim. How easy it will be to resolve will be between, you, your agent, the adjuster and most importantly your repair facility.
