    Used triton with Yamaha 225 HPDI

    I was looking at purchasing a 2003 triton with 2003 Yamaha 225 hpdi. I went to do a compression test today and all cylinders was 115 but cylinder 3 was 0. The boat was garage kept in great shape. The guy I was buying from acted like he didn’t know the cylinder was down. He said if I still wanted it he would take it to a boat dealer and have it fixed no matter what is took. My question is is the Yamaha hpdi motor any good or what would anyone suggest in buying a boat with that problem. Is there any kind of recipets to look for after he gets the repair done.

    Id stay clear and get another boat.

    Triton 19 XS Elite, 225 Mercury Pro XS, Minn Kota Ultrex 112, Hydrowave H2, Twin 8' Power Pole Blades, Power Pole CHARGE, Lowrance HDS 12 and 16 at console, Lowrance HDS 9, Garmin LiveScope at bow, Mercmonitor, Rigid Industries Deck lights and other stuff to come that will make me go more broke

    No go on that engine. A lot of issues with those HPDI's. Now if it was an 02 ox66, alllll day.

    That sucks because he was asking 14k and boat was in mint condition. It’s in shop now getting brand new jasper power head installed.
