    3-Shot Group, 100 Yards

    Went to the range today with some handloads I made last night. I had 7 rounds left over from last year that I shot, and those grouped okay.

    Then I loaded up 3 fresh cartridges from last night. I've worked up a good load for my .308 Winchester that I've stuck with for the last 10 years or so, and here's my data:

    Rifle: Weatherby Mark V Deluxe with Leupold VX-III 3.5-10 x 50mm
    Case: Lapua (new brass)
    Primer: Winchester WLR
    Bullet: Sierra 165 gr. Gameking
    Powder: IMR 4064
    COL: 2.780"

    Thats a pretty full dose. I think I used almost that much in my 7-08 behind a 140 Nosler BTBT.

    My Rem. BDL Varmit Special would print about 1/2 inch 5 shot groups @ 100yrds. Every deer that I shot with it fell on the spot. Sighted about 2 to 2-1/4 high at a hundred I was dead hold out to 250 or so. I may have been at about 40.5 gr. of 4064. Its been a long time since I loaded for that round. The bullet performed very well for me in this caliber.
